Fra den første opptredenen i 1974 har Volkswagen Golf fortsatt å utvikle og lede den verdensomspennende kompaktbilklassen, samtidig som den deltar aktivt i motorsport. Andregenerasjonsmodellen - resultatet av et fullstendig modellskifte i 1983 - hadde en GTi-sportsmodell med en 1781cc inline-4-motor. Dette byggesettet etterligner den bilen som møtte suksess i globale rallyløp i 1986 og ble mester i sin klasse. Den har et lett og slitesterkt karosseri i polykarbonat (lexan), sammen med MF-01X-chassiset som har ett akseldrevet 4WD chassis gjør den anvendelig til en flott kjøretur på vei og flatt grusunderlag. 1980 -tallet var tiåret som det ble populært igjen med såkalte hatch back ! The bumper is also a separate component. ★Right: Dish wheels are paired with rally block tires.   MF-01X - Compact 4WD At Home on a Range of Surfaces Based around a tough monocoque frame with integrated gearboxes, this compact 4WD chassis gives a thrilling drive whether you take it on road or flat dirt surfaces. It features a rear-mounted motor, with gear-driven rear wheels and a propeller shaft taking power to the front. Both front and rear gearboxes have differential gears. The battery pack location in the chassis center secures excellent balance, while 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension employs friction dampers. Off-road capable M-05Ra chassis uprights and hub carriers are also included, and 8-spoke wheels are paired with rally block tires.   ★Left: A close-up on the double wishbone front suspension.
