This R/C model assembly kit recreates the classic Volkswagen Beetle in rally racing form. Thanks to its superlative reliability and uncomplicated upkeep, it was a fixture on the global rally circuit from the 1950s through to the 1980s, and this model is inspired by such rallying Beetles. The VW body sits atop Tamiya’s proven shaft-driven 4WD MF-01X chassis, which is at home on a range of surfaces from road to flat dirt.

About the MF-01X:
Power is transmitted from the rear mounted motor to the front wheels via a propeller shaft that runs down the side of the MF- 01X. Gearboxes are integrated into the monocoque for a sturdy and easy-to-assemble structure.

The MF-01X has a three-section make-up; changing the central spacer section enables short
(210mm), middle (225mm), and long (239mm) wheelbases. The Rallye Beetle uses the 239 mm wheelbase configuration.
